達摩在面壁九年後站起來舒展身筋的剎那，感悟到天地間之靈氣及神力由內到外爆發出來，氣勢雄偉，如欲磅礡、充沛於整個天地；將達摩由靜到動的神態表現──把靜坐斂心，專注一境，進而達到「輕安」、「觀照」、「明淨」的狀態寓於一站立之中，表現達摩氣貫山河、神悟自然、天人合一的禪宗創始者形象。
After having faced a wall for nine years, Bodhidharma stands up and stretches himself. At that very instant, he feels that the power of the universe and the superhuman strength are going to explode from within. So majestic and so boundless, the power and the strength fill the whole universe. Bodhidharma has been in a still state where he concentrates and sits quietly to meditate. Then he attains “calmness”, “intelligent contemplation” and “clarity and brightness”. At the moment when he attains enlightenment, he stands up. This is a dynamic state where the universe and he become one – there is no boundary between the universe and the founder of the Chan Sect, because he fully understands nature.
