潘玉書(1889~1936),名麟、號玉書。生於光緒初年,卒于1936年4月28日。原籍廣東省南海縣清河鄉。少時隨父潘錦之學藝,學做綢衣公仔。十四歲開始向當時的石灣名家黃炳偷偷學習,後來又從學於陳渭巖,吸取石灣陶藝傳統的精華並加以發展。潘氏擅長塑造仕女形象,從眉眼、嘴角的微妙變化來表現女性特有的溫柔嬌媚。

Pan Yushu (1889~1936), name Lin, nicknameYushu. Born in the early Guangxu , died on April 28, 1936. Originally from Qinghe Township, Nanhai County, Guangdong Province. When he was a boy, he learned to make silk clothes doll from his father Pan Jinzhi. At the age of fourteen, he began to secretly learn from the famous Shiwan master Huang Bing. Later, he learned from Chen Weiyan and absorbed the essence of the Shiwan pottery tradition and developed it. Pan is good at shaping the image of a lady, showing the tenderness and femininity of women from the subtle changes in the eyebrows and the corners of the mouth.
