老子即李耳（聃），世人尊稱為「老子」 生於東周的楚國苦縣厲鄉曲仁里（原屬陳國，今河南省鹿邑縣），春秋時代思想家。 此人有著作被人們廣泛奉為《道德經》，是道家的經典，後人奉為道家學派之開教宗師，東方三大聖人之首，唐朝追認李聃為李姓始祖。 老子是世界文化名人，世界百位歷史名人之一。
Laozi is Li Er (聃), and the world is known as "Laozi" Born in Qurenli, Lixiang, Ku County, Chu Kingdom (formerly Chen Guo, now Luyi County, Henan Province), a thinker in the Spring and Autumn Period. This person's works are widely regarded as the "Tao De Jing", which is a classic of Taoism. Later generations are regarded as the founding masters of the Taoist school, the head of the three saints in the East. Lao Tzu is a celebrity in world culture and one of the hundred historical celebrities in the world.
